AVS can help you learn new skills and achieve your professional
goals through its Professional Development Certificate Series
program. Each series provides a thorough background in the basic
principles and techniques of a specific subject through a
planned series of courses.
Each Series listed below is designed to make use of the many
courses offered by AVS and help guide you in enhancing your
career choice. A Series topic is made up of required (R) courses
and an associate number of elective (E) courses for that
specific Series.
The elective courses are arranged in sub-groups (e.g., E1, E2,
etc.) such that one elective course from each elective sub-group
must be completed along with the required courses. The number
beside the Series title indicates the total number of elective
and required courses that must be completed for that Series.
Upon completion of the specific number of courses for that
Series you would be awarded the AVS Professional Development
Certificate and receive recognition.
*Certificate series courses are identified in the index as

Electron Microscopy & Spectroscopy Series (R=3/E=1)
