The CO2
Snow Cleaning process removes micron and
submicron particulates and hydrocarbon-based
contamination. Carbon dioxide snow cleaning is
nondestructive, nonabrasive, residue-free, and
environmentally friendly - there is no chemical waste.
The cleaning process is based upon the expansion of
either liquid or gaseous carbon dioxide through an
orifice. This expansion leads to the nucleation of small
dry ice particles and a high velocity gas carrier
stream. Upon impact with a dirty surface, the dry ice
media removes particles by momentum transfer, even
micron and submicron particulates, and hydrocarbons via
a transient solvent or a freeze fracture mechanism. The
high-velocity gas blows the contaminants away.
Carbon
Dioxide Snow Cleaning can be used for either initial or
final cleaning, and for numerous critical and
non-critical cleaning applications in the semiconductor,
disk drive, research, vacuum technologies, surface
science, surface analysis, optical, medical, automotive,
analytical instrument, and manufacturing communities.

Edge welded bellows are very durable and offer a
function unobtainable with any other technology known
today. Bellows can flex considerably while maintaining
true all-metal, hermetic sealing. The secret of a welded
bellows flexibility is its construction of many very
thin, washer-leaflets microwelded together in series to
create an accordion-like tube. Thus the general envelope
shape of edge welded bellows is a hollow round cylinder
where the axis of the cylinder is the direction of most
flex travel (axial stroke). However, due to its extreme
flexibility a bellows can also flex in an angular way
(bending) as well as allowing for parallel end-face to
end-face shift (lateral motion).
For applications that require high quality,
state-of-the-art Micro Fusion Joined edge welded bellows
are more cost effective and functional than either
Electron Beam or Laser Welded.

Sumitomo (SHI) Cryogenics of

them to be readily serviced without the need to break

cryocoolers, pulse tubes, shield coolers and laboratory
cryostats for the semiconductor, research, optical

Trillium SubFab Services,
established in 2002, has service and manufacturing
locations in Clackamas, OR, Austin, TX, and Phoenix, AZ.
In addition, Trillium has local engineers based in San
Jose, CA, Minneapolis, MN and Colorado Springs, CO.
Trillium specializes in the repair and sale of
refurbished vacuum systems, such as dry, cryo, rotary
vane, scroll, and turbo pumps. Trillium also supplies
temperature control unit (TCU) repair service as well as
new and refurbished chillers and heat exchangers. In
addition, Trillium is the largest US supplier of
refurbished exhaust gas abatement systems (point of use
scrubbers), and one of the largest acquirers of excess
vacuum, TCU and abatement equipment.
In support of our repaired and refurbished products,
Trillium provides on-site service including turn-key
