AVS Community

AVS is a place for camaraderie, collaboration, and connection at the regional, national, and international levels.

Members have many ways to connect with others who share their interests. Participate in one or more Divisions or Technical Groups, each focused on a major topical area. Chapters and Student Chapters provide opportunities to connect locally and address the needs of their regional communities.

AVS also connects members around the world through International Chapters and International Affiliates, fostering scientific exchange, collaboration, and professional connections across borders.

Beyond these groups, members can get involved in Committees and other volunteer opportunities—building skills, developing leadership experience, serving as leaders within the Society, and helping shape the future of AVS.

Ways to Get Involved & Volunteer

Find your place in the AVS community and make a difference. There are many ways to get involved, from sharing your experiences and supporting the scientific community to volunteering your time and expertise. Whether you want to connect with colleagues, contribute to AVS programs, support the next generation of scientists, or develop your own skills and leadership experience, your participation helps strengthen the AVS community.
